Boothbay Region Historical Society Facts

Founded:
The Society began in 1967 to serve Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, and Southport, which now has its own historical society.

Collections, Facilities:
The Boothbay Region Historical Society was at two prior locations before moving to the 1874 Elizabeth F. Reed House and grounds -- Fullerton Park -- on Oak Street in 1984.

Many of the furnishings in the museum are Reed family heirlooms. The museum displays local historical mementos and houses documentary collections, which include photographs, newspapers, history files, family files, oral history videos and DVDs, maps, surveys and nautical charts, town reports, and vital records, among other resources.
